Next week (Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18) a busload of youth (about 40 kids between the ages of 14 and 18) will be working in and around Fletcher Field. The undertaking, which is through Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will include four work ventures in the morning and early afternoon, then art projects during the late afternoon. Each day will begin around 10:30 a.m. and conclude about 4:15 p.m.
First and foremost, we need adult supervision for the youth throughout each day (but mostly on Saturday). Second, we want this to be a fellowship effort, would love some of your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. to be involved.
This is a big deal, arguably the biggest since we began working in the park during the summer of 2007. Please, if you can commit to either day, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
Also, a reminder that the annual Sunrise Run and Pancake Breakfast at Mt. Olivet Cemetery will take place this Sunday. Proceeds benefit Make a Wish of Michigan. Follow the link for more information:
And remember that the annual Shield of Faith Golf Outing is Saturday, Aug. 22. Proceeds help buy school supplies for children in the neighborhood around the park. Again, email me (email@example.com) for more information
Thanks for all you do! — Michael
