It’s been a crazy summer at Fletcher Field. For a moment, it actually looked like we might lose the old girl. But that all worked out for the best, and now we’re getting ready for our final event at the park this year.
In less than three weeks — Sunday, Oct. 25 — we’ll hold our 9th annual “Treats ‘n Trunks.” As has been the custom since 2007, we’ll begin parking our cars on Mt. Olivet street, adjacent to Fletcher Field, at 1 p.m. that day and begin to decorate them them. Then, around 2 p.m., the kids from the neighborhood will trick-or-treat from car to car. Please bring enough treats for at least 100 kids.
Afterward, we’ll cook up some hot dogs on the new grill and celebrate keeping the park safe, clean, cut and open for business since September 2007.
Please, please, please join us if you can. This event can only be successful if we have enough cars and treats to make it fun for the kids.
Thanks! — Michael
