A good cause

On May 26, Staff Sgt. Ergin V. Osman of Harrison Township died while serving our country in Afghanistan. He was on his ninth tour of duty.

On June 18 a ceremony will be held to honor Sgt. Osman and his family. It will be at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 21100 Madison Street in St. Clair Shores.

You’re probably what this has to do with sports. Well, Sgt. Osman leaves two children behind and both play Little League baseball in St. Clair Shores. Their names are Aiden and Zeren. The ceremony will take place on the baseball field outside of St. Isaac and Aiden’s team will play a game following the ceremony. Donations will be accepted at the ceremony and will be placed in a trust fund for the two boys.

Please consider dropping by Saturday and giving a little. Sgt. Osman and the other brave men and women serving in the military have given us so much.
