Flint boxer Claressa Shields already is London with the rest of the USA Boxing team preparing for next month’s Olympic competition. And her story, not surprisingly, has garnered plenty of attention in the run-up to these Games. We profiled her quest to clinch an Olympic berth back in May, and News photographer Elizabeth Conley captured her training with some terrific shots from a training session at Berston Field House in Flint.
Long before that, however, a group of filmmakers was hard at work on a documentary about Shields and her Olympic quest. They’re still at it but need funding help to complete the project. So check out the trailer here, and then stay tuned for more coverage here on Shields and the rest of our local Olympians as I get ready to head to London next week.
