Lions make a surprising pick with history of knee troubles

Detroit goes with…wait for it…another receiver! It’s Oklahoma’s Ryan Broyles. This guy was projected mid-fourth round by some draft analysts. Very surprising pick. For a breakdown on Broyles, click here.

The NFL.com skinny on Broyles: “Even though he displays premier athletic ability, he certainly doesn’t make many plays due to his size. He will have to work out of the slot in the NFL, which he was able to do throughout college. Before tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in November, Broyles was a second-round talent.”

Barry Sanders announced the pick. Broyles is considered a slot receiver, but it’s unclear when he’ll be healthy.
