Monday’s practice apparently wasn’t the first event Titus Young had to miss as a result of him sucker-punching teammate Louis Delmas.
On Friday, Calvin Johnson threw out the first pitch at the Tigers-Pirates game at Comerica Park and was invited to stay and watch the game from a luxury suite. As Calvin always does, he invited his fellow receivers to join him for the night. The one exception was Young. He was apparently not invited.
It is not known if the invite was pulled by the team or by Johnson himself. Johnson, though, was asked that night where Young was and he responded, “We can’t talk about that.”
Football fights happen all the time and aren’t typically anything that lingers or harms chemistry. Especially when they happen in May. But I think because Young has had temper issues in the past, the Lions are taking a hard-line stance on this. Call it tough love if you want. It’s not a bad thing.
