Browns make it interesting, but Lions hold lead

Doug Hogue stopped Adonis Thomas on a potential go-ahead two-point conversion and the Lions maintained a 17-16 lead with 6:05 left in the preseason opener.
Thomas had scored on a 3-yard run, capping an 11-play, 75-yard drive that brought the Browns within a point. The Browns didn’t attempt the extra point presumably because NO ONE would want to have overtime in a preseason game.
