Blocked punt sets Lions up in good position

A very unremarkable third quarter is in the books in Baltimore with the Lions leading the Ravens 17-9 in preseason action.

Shaun Hill started the quarter at quarterback for the Lions but gave way to Kellen Moore, the rookie free agent from Boise State. Moore came in and completed 5-of-7 passes for 53 yards.

Baltimore went the whole quarter with Tyrod Taylor. He’s continued to struggle, going 6-of-18 for 47 yards in the air, but he’s added six carries for 51 yards.

Alphonso Smith left the game with 14 seconds left in the third quarter after pulling up at the end of pass coverage. He walked off the field under his own strength.

The Lions opened the fourth quarter with more action than in the third, as Willie Young broke through the middle and blocked a Baltimore punt, giving the Lions good field poisition at the 34-yard line.
