Goal line call reversed as Raiders take 7-3 lead

It looked like the Lions came up with a big goal-line stand on fourth down, but after review, the referees reversed the call to give Raiders running back Darren McFadden a touchdown, giving the Raiders a 7-3 lead.

After a pass interference by safety Erik Coleman, the Raiders had first and goal from the Lions’ 1. The Lions held the Raiders on the first three plays, but McFadden’s second effort on fourth and one helped him break the plane with the ball.

The call was initially ruled a fumble and Lions ball on the 1, but the review showed McFadden broke the plane just before the ball popped out. It looked like a tough call on a bang-bang play.

The Raiders moved into scoring range on the drive with a 41-yard pass from Carson Palmer to wide receiver Darius Heyward-Bey that moved them to the Lions’ 12. Heyward-Bey beat cornerback Justin Miller on the play, but it looked like Miller could’ve made a play on the ball.
