Long return by Justin Miller sets up Lions field goal

Justin Miller quickly made up for his bad play.

The cornerback gave up a 41-yard reception by Darius Heyward-Bey that set up a Raiders touchdown, but bounced back with an 80-yard punt return to move the Lions to the Raiders’ 21.

Quarterback Shaun Hill took over for Matthew Stafford who has his left hand taped, but the Lions couldn’t move the ball. They settled for a 30-yard field goal by Jason Hanson to cut the deficit to 7-6 with 5:24 left in the second quarter.

Other injury note: Cornerback Chris Houston hurt his ankle, and his return is questionable but looks unlikely.
