There was no turnover at the end of the possession this time, as Joique Bell (Wayne State) plunged into the end zone on a 1-yard run to give the Lions a 7-3 lead over the Rams in the second quarter.
For the second straight drive, quarterback Matthew Stafford was sterling going 6-of-7 for 44 yards. His 10-yard throw to Calvin Johnson got the Lions to the 1-yard line and two plays later, Bell was in the end zone, with his first career touchdown.
Through the first two drives, the Lions offense has looked unstoppable, save Stafford’s interception on the first possession. They’ll have to make adjustments to stop Stafford’s rhythm, or this will be a rough game.
