After the Lions’ first three-and-out of the game, the Rams got the ball on Detroit’s 47 and scored in five plays, capped by a 23-yard pass from Sam Bradford to Brandon Gibson. The Rams lead, 20-13, with 9:45 remaining — and the Lions’ offense virtually quiet in the second half.
Smith beat rookie cornerback Jonte Green, who was replacing another rookie, Bill Bentley, who left because of an injury.
It’ll be time for Calvin Johnson, who has four catches for 73 yards, to make his mark.
