Costly penalties set up 49ers TD

Most NFL teams won’t take points off the board, but the Lions gave the 49ers no choice.

Cornerback Drayton Florence was called for running into the kicker after a David Akers field goal, and the penalty gave the 49ers a first down.

San Francisco then benefited from a pass interference call against cornerback Jacob Lacey in the end zone. The 49ers got the ball at the 1 and Frank Gore punched it in.

So far the 49ers are taking advantage of the Lions’ mistakes. The Lions have yet to capitalize.
