Lions defense giving up big rush plays

A field goal looked like a victory for the Lions defense on the first drive of the second half.

The 49ers had a 10-play drive that took 5:18, and they continued to find big gaps in the Lions defense. On the drive, Kendall Hunter had a 13-yard run and Frank Gore had an 11-yarder.

San Francisco now has 117 yards on 15 carries, a 7.8-yard average. The Lions need to close the gaps and stop these long drives.

Of course, answering a field goal with a touchdown might ease the pain for Lions fans.
