How locals fared at NFL Scouting Combine workouts Saturday

Saturday was the first day of on-field workouts at the NFL Combine, with offensive linemen, tight ends and specialists having a chance to display their athleticism.

Among the group were three prospects from Metro Detroit, and here’s a look at how they performed:

Offensive tackle Eric Fisher, Central Michigan (Rochester Hills Stoney Creek)

40-yard dash: 5.05 seconds

Vertical jump: 28.5 inches

Broad jump: 116 inches

Three-cone drill: 7.59 seconds

20-yard shuttle: 4.44 seconds

225-pound bench press (Friday): 27

Offensive tackle Reid Fragel, Ohio State (Grosse Pointe South)

40-yard dash: 5.14 seconds

Vertical jump: 30 inches

Broad jump: 113 inches

Three-cone drill: 7.62 seconds

20-yard shuttle: 4.68 seconds

225-pound bench press (Friday): 33

Tight end Dion Sims, Michigan State (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)

40-yard dash: 4.75 seconds

Vertical jump: 35 inches

Broad jump: 112 inches

Three-cone drill: 7.36 seconds

20-yard shuttle: 4.52 seconds

225-pound bench press (Friday): 22

Players do their bench press a day before the on-field drills, and running backs, quarterbacks and wide receivers (sans Denard Robinson due to injury) lifted Saturday. Here’s how many reps the locals, all running backs, did at 225 pounds:

Le’Veon Bell, Michigan State: 24

George Winn, Cincinnati (U-D Jesuit): 22

Zach Line, SMU (Oxford): 26
