Well, it looks like the Lions will need another comeback if they hope to avoid an embarrassing loss. The Titans lead 20-9 at halftime thanks largely to a few big plays and a few gaffes by the Lions. The Titans scored the first touchdown of the game on a 65-yard punt return by Tommie Campbell … Continue Reading →

The Lions inexplicably ran on third and 2 near midfield and were forced to punt again. With Ben Graham out with a calf injury, Jason Hanson had to punt for the second time today and the 14th time in his career. The 35-yard punt didn’t break any records, but it pinned the Titans on their … Continue Reading →
Everything just took a wrong turn for the Lions. After allowing a touchdown on a trick play punt return, the Lions had a three-and-out. If that wasn’t bad enough, they had to send out Jason Hanson to punt, just the 13th of his career. It went 37 yards. On the ensuing drive, Titans quarterback Jake … Continue Reading →
People questioning Jason Hanson’s veteran leg will have to stay quiet for another week. Hanson just hit a 53-yard field goal to give the Lions a 6-0 lead with 6:36 remaining in the first quarter. From 40 yards out, Hanson again hit the right upright, but the ball bounced backwards. The Lions have kept this game close, but have settled for field goals instead … Continue Reading →
There goes that. The 49ers hadn’t coughed up a turnover in 26 quarters dating back to 2011, but that streak is now over. On the kickoff following the Lions field goal, linebacker Tahir Whitehead forced a fumble by kick returner Kendall Hunter. Kassim Osgood recovered for the Lions at the SF 49. But the Lions … Continue Reading →
It didn’t look like San Francisco cornerback Chris Culliver did anything illegal, but on one-on-one coverage against Titus Young, Culliver was called for pass interference. The questionable call gave the Lions a free 33 yards, and moved them across midfield. The Lions couldn’t get anything else going, though, and had to settle for a field … Continue Reading →
