After a 4-0 start, the Cardinals have lost nine straight, but the Lions haven’t earned the right to overlook anyone after losing their past five.
The Lions haven’t been able to finish drives all season, too often settling for field goals instead of touchdowns. And despite holding leads in the final two minutes of regulation the past three games, they haven’t been able to finish off opponents.
With both the Lions and Packers quarterbacks capable of slinging their team to victory, the onus will be on defenses to shut down the powerful weapons, and the Lions (4-5) know it will be tough Sunday.
The Lions kick off their second half Sunday against division rival Minnesota, but that doesn’t mean there’s suddenly more urgency in the locker room. If there was some magic intensity lever, the Lions (4-4) pulled it to full throttle weeks ago.
At 3-4, the Lions’ playoff hopes are still alive, but they’re in last place in the NFC North. A win would bring them back to .500 and give them back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
The Lions are home today and hoping that they can turn things around following their defeat by the Bears Monday night. Matthew Stafford faces a loaded Seahawks secondary with three big defensive backs. CB Richard Sherman and S Kam Chancellor are both 6-foot-3, and CB Brandon Browner is 6-4
