Jason Hanson field goal gives Detroit Lions early lead

It’s still early, but the Lions have jumped out in front of the Colts.

They took a 3-0 lead on a 48-yard Jason Hanson field goal with 8:49 left in the first quarter.

Both teams punted on their first drive, and the Lions took advantage of their second. A 14-yard catch by Calvin Johnson on third down moved the Lions across midfield and set up the field goal.

Johnson already has three catches for 237 yards.
