Newt's brain gets occupied

Has Occupy Wall Street occupied Newt Gingrich’s brain?
The Republican presidential candidate this week attacked his GOP rival, Mitt Romney, for taking companies into bankruptcy and firing workers when he was with the turnaround company Bain Capital.
That may get him votes from the OWS crowd, but that’s not who will pick the Republican nominee.
Republicans shouldn’t pander to those who hate capitalism, who don’t understand how the private sector works, and who don’t accept that when a company has been mismanaged to the point that it is no longer profitable or competitive, tough decisions have to be made. Often, those decisions mean that some workers must let go to save the enterprise and preserve the remaining jobs.
Whoever wins the presidency will have to make similar difficult decisions to shrink the federal government and trim the workforce.
Republicans can’t nominate someone who isn’t willing to do that. Nor should its nominee get caught up in destructive anti-business rhetoric.
>Americans shouldn’t have to choose between two capitalism haters next fall.
