Enjoy the sunshine bonus

Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth — the hand wringing is in full swing over the much, much warmer and sunnier March weather.
Kids are riding bikes and playing in parks, homeonwers are mowing lawns and thinking about planting flowers, the walleye are running in the Detroit River. All a good month to six weeks ahead of schedule.
And that, of course, has the global warming warriors up in arms about climate change. Of course, what doesn’t get these folks up in arms? Even President Obama weighed in, warning that we’re getting a taste of what the world will be like when climate does change.
But this is weather, not clmate change. Some unusual weather fronts way up north are drawing war air into Michigan and other places that are nomrally chilly this time of year, while forcing down colder air elsewhere.
Next year, it could just the reverse. Michigan has had been unusually warm in March before, though not this warm, and it has been unseasonably cold, too.
So let’s enjoy the sunshine bonus and chill on the global warming panic.
