Girsky: GM CEO 'impatient'

GM vice chairman Steve Girsky told an audience at the Automotive World Congress last night that his boss, GM CEO Dan Akerson is “impatient.”

“His hunger for speed is rubbing off on the company and I think in a good way.”

Girsky recounted an Akerson anecdote.

He said that one weekend Akerson called him to complain about being left on hold for 15 minutes by OnStar after he had called for service while on a trip in Florida. “This is unacceptable,” Akerson said. “I pushed the button again and identified myself.”

Girksy, who is responsible for OnStar, looked into it.

“We pulled the tape – he was on hold for 90 seconds,” Girksy said.
