Patching material details; rain possibly on way; Penkse speaks

Reports of rubber patching used and some quick-dry cement. But there could be a problem on the horizon because there’s reports of rain coming. Weather.com, however, claims there’s still only a 10 percent chance of rain. If rain does come, it doesn’t appear like it will be heavy rain. The cement used to patch the problem areas might take an hour or so to dry.

Here’s what Roger Penske just said in an interview with Indy Car Radio about the surface:

“I think it was wise for the officials to obviously stop. I think there’s three spots that are critical.”

Penske still sounded optimistic that this race could resume.
