Hungry cruisegoers in Pontiac have a unique food option this year — fresh roasted corn from the My Garden produce company.
The corn-roasting station can be found at most farmer’s markets in Birmingham and Royal Oak, but they chose to attend the Dream Cruise this year to take advantage of the million-or-so visitors.
But it hasn’t quite worked out as planned.
“It’s been kind of slow,” said David Uribe, whose father owns the company.
He’s not quite a classic car fan, either.
“It’s fun for the first few hours,” Uribe said. “But after awhile seeing the same car over and over gets old.”
It never gets old for employee Zach VanBuskirk.
“Chevelles, Thunderbirds; I love all the cars,” he said.
The corn-roasters are grateful for the relatively mild weather — especially considering temperatures by their oven reach 500 degrees.
