Tom Greenwood soaks up the sights and sounds of Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak for this say-what? report.
Brian Fry didn’t have to fight the Dream Cruise traffic in Pontiac Saturday morning. That’s because the 52-year-old Waterford native was already on Woodward– and has been since Friday morning. “I spent the night over in my trailer,” said Fry, who is president of the North Oakland Bowties Car Club. “It’s kind of like my … Continue Reading →
For more than two decades, Greg Wallace has been discovering, collecting and stashing away historic and future General Motors keepsakes. I stopped this morning on my way to the Cruise at the GM Heritage Center, a not-open-to-the-public facility in a nondescript industrial park not far from the GM Technical Center in Warren. Friday night in Ferndale is proving to be THE place to be for cruisers and spectators who have jammed Nine Mile on both sides of Woodward Avenue. Thousands of visitors are swarming the downtown area: families, couples, couples with dogs, singles, mingles and car lovers, especially if the car you love is a Mustang. Nine … Continue Reading →
