Happy Mother's Day!

Tiny fingers

Tiny toes

Chubby cheeks

A button nose.

Changing diapers

Sleepless nights

Overwhelming

Hold on tight.

Finally crawling

Peek- a-boo

Eating solids

A smile, too.

Walking, running

Moving fast

Cherished moments

They won’t last.

Loving, hugging

Kiss good-night

My sweet child

All is right.

Off to school now

Please don’t cry

“I’ll be fine, mom.”

Say goodbye.

ABC’s

and 123’s

“Look at this, Mom -

Are you proud of me?”

Catching bugs

Riding bikes

Skipping stones

Flying kites.

Broken bones

Scraped up knees

Bandaged up

A kiss from me.

Lots of groceries

Tons of bills

Dishes stacked

To the window sill.

Never-ending

Piles rise

Laundry may be

My demise.

Toys are broken

Pee on floor

Help me Lord

Can’t take much more.

Middle school

The halls of doom

Music blaring

Messy room.

Growing out

Of clothes too fast

Up two sizes

Since measured last.

No more kisses?

What? For real?

Stop and think

How I must feel.

Awful smelling

Showers help

Wash your pits

Scrub your scalp.

Such a mouth

Yes, you know all

I’ll still catch you

When you fall.

High School starts

Four more years

When you need me

I’ll be there.

Baseball, soccer

Football too

Homework, working

Much to do.

You did what?

That can’t be true

Hope you have one

Just like you.

First date, first love

Now it starts

Time to mend

A broken heart.

Driving now

Out with friends

Will this phase

Ever end?

Making memories

Keep grades high

Spread your wings

It’s time to fly.

Graduation

Already through?

Couldn’t be more

Proud of you.

College bound

Your journey starts

Be true to yourself

Guard your heart.

All grown up

How time flies

I love you, baby!

Be safe, Goodbye.

Wherever you may be in your parenting  journey, I wish you an abundance of love and joy this Mother’s Day and beyond.
