Hold up

A Detroit police officer stops traffic as the Goodfellows’ parade passes behind him Monday, November 29, 2004 in Detroit. Perhaps the sepia toning is too much, but with all the circles and the hand-held sign, it’s what I envision it when I shot it.

2010 Michigan Press Photographer of the year. I've been a photojournalist at The Detroit News since 2003. Prior to that, I worked at a few smaller papers around the state and feel like every high school state tournament is a walk down memory lane. When I'm not working, you can find me using film cameras, enjoying Michigan's outdoors (and no, that's not sarcasm), traveling or making a mess in my kitchen.
