Mackinac Bridge in fog

I’ve crossed many bridges in my life, figuratively and literally, but the one that always gets me is the Mackinac Bridge. I think it has to do with when some tragic anomaly happens at a certain age in your life to a stranger, it becomes one of your crazy fears. So it goes with me and the fear of driving off the Mackinac Bridge. Within this year I’ve crossed the bridge 5 times so far, not as many times as some people, but seeing how every crossing is a lifetime of fear, it’s an ordeal. A couple times the Mackinac Bridge Authority gave me a lift. In case you didn’t know, there’s a little phone booth on the south side of the bridge that you can call and they’ll bring a driver for you. But yesterday I decided to take it on myself, despite the 20 MPH speed limit and the fog. Happy to report I survived, and have the photos to prove it.
