This is my favorite picture from high atop the crumbling roof of the abandoned Packard Plant in Detroit. Hearing that the owner of the sprawling ruin intends to demolish it, graffiti artists, photographers and urban explorers have been flocking to the site in recent days. Me and and a couple of fellow Detroit News photographers (if you go, take a buddy with you and watch your step, the place is falling apart, after all) braved the stairs all the way to the top and found these three teenagers hanging out. Photos taken on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. I don’t know why, but the image kind of reminds me of the cover art on Who’s Next.
