So I am at the Detroit Jazz Festival, shooting the main stage during The Sacred Music of Duke Ellington set and I see this rather flamboyant guy dressed in part like Prince with a dash of Elvis thrown in walking down the street in front of the filled stands. Rather slyly, I see numerous people start to go for their cameras and cell phones to snap a picture. Apparently not too slyly, because the gentleman says, “HOLD ON!” He sets down his bag, straightens his outfit, strikes a pose and says “NOW!” I flipped around and got one pic of all the happy snappers before he moved on. Unfortunately, I couldn’t catch up with Elvince, I know it’s not great but I’m going with it, but truly the expressions on the audience were great and Elvince was pretty darn cool. VIVA ELVINCE!
