Carriage House Designs

For me, one of the most magical events of the holiday season is the annual window unveiling at Carriage House Designs– a spectacular shop in downtown Howell, Michigan. This year’s circus-themed event featured carnival funhouse lights, sweet treats, mini clowns, party hats, painted ladies and, of course, an entire store stocked with delightful gifts. Owner, and all-around lovely spirit, Kim Wilson (above left, with staffer Kim Kole-Smith) fills her place with fairy goods, sparkly jewels, unique treasures, and other “fun stuff” all whipped into a fanciful confection that is worth making it a destination stop at any time of the year.

"I love photojournalism because you can preserve forever the most ephemeral moments of human emotion and truth and reveal the magic of everyday life," says Baker.
