Welcome Back, NBA

The NBA stepped back to the national stage on Christmas Day, and before the league stepped into the uncertain future, someone put together something pretty cool.

That “someone” was TNT, which probably has the best studio crew of any in sports with its combination of entertainment and information during halftime and postgame segments.

Before the Knicks/Celtics game, they put together a pretty cool montage addressing the present and the past. However they managed to have Dwight Howard getting his shot blocked by Wilt Chamberlain or having Tim Duncan tap Bill Walton on the hip is something I’ll never fully understand.

Technology, I’m sure is the easy answer, but for a league that gets criticized for not acknowledging its history sans Bird, Magic and Michael, perhaps it should take note from its Emmy-winning TV partners.
