What is Mitt Romney hiding?

A lot of people are wondering why Mitt Romney is refusing to release his tax returns. After all every serious presidential candidate has released theirs for the last 40 years.

He says he’s going to release information about his wealth. Things like his holdings and other assets but not his tax returns. You think it’s because he makes the bulk of income on capital gains and can afford high priced accountants so he doesn’t want anyone to find out how little he pays in taxes? Particularly since he so fiercely supports making the Bush era tax breaks for the super-rich permanent.

In fact, maybe he’s one of the “1,470 households [that] reported income of more than $1 million in 2009 but paid zero federal income tax on it.” Hard to think of any other reason he would be keeping it such a big secret.
