The Florida primary proves that money may not buy love, but it will make folk hate your opponent. The old Newt Gingrich got blown away by Mitt Romney, who isn’t loved by conservatives. But Romney had big money and used it well to make Gingrich look like a mad man without focus or cause.
The Super PAC money has come in from the rich and powerful to make a difference in the primary and will be around for the general election. Romney has got the most so far, some $18 or $20 million worth to make Gingrich look like an old fat white guy with no reason to run for anything but retirement.
But President Barack Obama and even Stephen Colbert are working hard at the money-can’t-buy-love-but-it-will-help-make-your-opponent-look-real-bad game. Rick Santorum is slowly learning to use the good old PAC attack game.
