PeteScrubItNOW

Former Rep. Pete Hoekstra is getting some spring cleaning done.  He’s rolled his sleeves up and scrubbed everything associated with the racist ad he ran during the Super Bowl.  You remember, the ad that is still available over the web, and gave Senator Stabenow an unforced and undeserved lead?

I didn’t know Pete was a Democrat.  That $150k would’ve been better spent just giving it directly to Debbie, wouldn’t it?  Better yet, donate it to President Obama, he’ll send you a sticker (as I don’t think Debbie has stickers).

Primary polling shows Pete Hoekstra with a strong lead for the nomination to run against Senator Stabenow.  I wonder if GOP voters should take a moment and think about why they’re still supporting a guy who won’t even own up to an ad that single-handedly made voters work harder just  to support him?  After all, if Pete’s message is so compelling, we could vote in a soft chair over Senator Stabenow…right?

I could have accepted a strong defense to the ad.  I sure would disagree, but that’s a pittance compared to the all-powerful Hoek.  If he really believed what he did was right, he shouldn’t have folded at the first sight of resistance, or worse, back down from the claim that “Democrats” played the race card.

Now it looks like Democrats didn’t play a race card, and he’s just weak and easy to browbeat.

It tells me he doesn’t even have enough confidence to stand up for his own campaign, or his own misguided fear of China.  See, Japan is really a larger problem due to their unthinkable debt-to-GDP ratio, and in my view, more volatile if Pete actually cared about debt.  But most people remember how Pete feels about spending, and bailouts…right?

And now, we have a chance to make him a Senator.

Maybe it’s good to send him to Washington.  That way he won’t be here.  Let’s keep Clark Durant here in Michigan, where he can do more good work for schools.  Just send Pete to DC with a bag lunch, and a note from his voters to stay there for the next 6 years.

Honestly, it might be better for Michigan.  It’s not like he’d vote differently from a Democrat, right?

Just vote for TARP again, Pete.

That’s one vote that he can’t scrub from the record.

But I’m sure if it was on his website with asians, he’d be dumping Comet all over it.

Mako out.
