Tracking Michigan tonight

This is a great link for general election returns, a sort of overview that highlights key elements of the state.  The UP counties should be closing in a minute, so we’ll finally get to see some results to this wacky primary season.  ***(I found a great raw vote link, thanks to the wizards of TPM)***

Moreso, it is much better than staring at zeroes on the Michigan state website right now.  The raw numbers aren’t officially unofficial, but if this thing is as close as they’re saying, I’m staying up for a while.

Some results to view here in Oakland County, the OC has early returns that show Romney’s doing what he has to, holding Oakland County.  He’s leading as of 8:56 PM with about 2,800 votes  With 37 of 541 precincts reporting, things could change.  But I expect Romney to take the county, and with that, build a margin that may get erased by all of the other counties who will support Rick Santorum.  And if turnout in outside counties are strong enough, it could be a big night for Rick.

I was voter #290 of my precinct.  It’s looking like 25% max turnout (I voted around 6:00 P.M.), and it was pretty quiet.  I filled out a new “registration” card, and it’s not really a big deal.  I just have a GOP tag on a database somewhere for the next 22 months.

Though, if I get political spam, I’m going to think up something to entertain the masses when the time comes.

It’s a long night, and if anything important shows up, I’ll shoot out a blog.  Stay focused on Oakland County, because if Romney can’t push his lead there, there might be chaos ahead.

Mako out.
