Republicans vote to rob the poor, to give to the rich

It’s official. Senate Republicans joined their House GOPers to vote for Paul Ryan’s Roadmap to Middleclass Ruin, or as they call it — the Ryan budget. Let’s review how that plan works:

Among it’s most contentious features, the plan would phase out the existing Medicare program and replace it with a subsidized private insurance system for seniors; dramatically slash Medicaid spending and hand the program over to the states; cut food and nutrition programs for poor people; and allow interest rates on student loans to double; all while dramatically reducing taxes, particularly on wealthy Americans.

I might add, reduce the taxes on the rich below how little they already pay into the public commons. When you cut through all their false and divisive sloganery, this is the Republican platform. To take from the have less, to give to the have more than they’ll ever need. Make no mistake, the have less class includes 90% of us.
