The Avengers II: The Infinity Petition

Rep. Thaddeus McCotter just ended his write-in campaign.

I think he’s decided to join The Avengers‘ sequel.

Seeking justice for his sovereign constituents (after redistricting), Rep. McCotter will not take the time for an expensive and complicated write-in campaign.  Per his words, he’s doing it to clear his name and concentrate on his citizens.  But you’ve got to wonder where was he last year, when he was running for President, and leaving his people marginalized until politically expedient?

Why is it that every time something goes wrong with a politician, they have to “concentrate” on the job they’re already supposed to have been doing? The excuse doesn’t work this time.  He’s gone from write-in to write-out in just a single week.

And I’m sure that has “nothing” to do with the news that the AG is now involved … right?

A superhero would dig in and fight the fight, against the odds.  And to be honest, America needs people who are willing to swing for the fences, willing to lose, rather than just rig the game to win.

For someone like Kerry Bentivolio, it’s now a question when the MIGOP is going to sell him down the river for a write-in circus.  With known names starting to creep up the grapevine, you can be assured that a redrawn red district is too much temptation for the establishment to ignore.

After all, they’re the ones who drew it.  And really, no one’s crying too hard, are they?  It seems to hint of enemy action, as it’s almost certain the field will be crowded with names looking for the paycheck.  After all, if there is someone to benefit, it’s everyone except Kerry Bentivolio and Rep. Thad McCotter, isn’t it?

Not once did any prominent politician stand up for the law, defending Bentivolio’s position and right for qualification.  They wanted loopholes, options, and now put names on the board come August.  Even the most stalwart “friends” of McCotter are contemplating a run.  After all, if you’re not in the running, you’re not nearby a reporter, are you?

“I hope you’ll listen in tomorrow (Monday) morning at 9:30 – :40 am, to 760 AM – WJR’s Frank Beckmann’s program – where I and Warren Pierce will be discussing politics and petition signatures…. Should be interesting….”

Seriously, Rocky?  Interesting is like showing up at The Biggest Loser with a stuffed crust pizza.

The game’s afoot.

Mako out.
