Facebook tells me gas is selling for $2.88 a gallon on the Georgia coast. Where I live it’s currently at $3.19 a gallon down from $3.38 when I filled up last week. It’s expected to continue to drop for everyone to under $3.00 this summer. Which is way less than we were paying in the same time frame under Bush.

You’ll recall that only last March, Karl Rove’s spin machine, “Crossroads GPS announced a $650,000 nationwide television ad campaign called “Deflect.” The 30-second spot falsely blames Obama administration actions for the rise in gasoline prices since 2009.” Which we’ve already established is completely false. No president is responsible for gas prices.
If Rove was honest, and he really believed the rise in gas prices was President Obama’s fault, then ethics would demand he spend another $650,000 to praise Obama for the falling price of gas. Of course that won’t happen. Rove and the other GOP superPACs, which are funded by the billionaires who want you to pay for their tax breaks, will be spending hundreds of millions to bombard you with ads filled with lies, falsely blaming Obama for problems that were created under their watch.
Useful to remember when you see these ads that they lied to you then and they’re going to keep lying to you now in order to trick you into putting them back into power so they can restore the past policies of the Bush era that got us into this mess in the first place.
