Romney's miserable foreign policy tour: Part Two

Getting back to Mr. Romney’s disastrous foreign tour, the campaign’s excuse for Mitt’s poor performance in England was disturbing.

Afterward, the campaign said that Mr. Romney had misspoken because he was tired and jet-lagged. “Even the Energizer Bunny needs new batteries once in a while,” said an adviser, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a delicate topic.

He was tired? The summer months are the easy part of the long campaign to the White House. He was on vacation for almost three weeks in July. It’s not that long a trip to England. Especially on a comfy private jet. How the heck is he going to make it through the fall when the campaigns really get going?

Furthermore, campaigning is a cakewalk compared to actually doing the job. Being President of the United States is a 24/7 high stress position. To do the job well requires an ability to maintain focus and a level of stamina that not everyone possesses. Especially in these troubled times. If Mitt is tired now, how is going to be able to deal with that 3:00a.m. call?

Mr Romney’s weak and embarrassing performance on this trip suggests he’s neither qualified, nor able, to meet the demands of the presidency.
