Did you know that Debbie Stabenow is on the Senate Budget Committee?
When Stabenow’s GOP Senate opponent, Pete Hoekstra, held a news conference Monday taking Michigan’s junior senator to task for not fulfilling her basic job description for over three years – passing a budget – Michiganians might have been doubly surprised. Not just that Harry Reid’s Senate hasn’t passed a budget in 1,209 days – but that Stabenow is a budget committee member.
At a time when Senator Debbie has failed to do her fundamental job (try not submitting a budget for THREE years as a private sector executive – you won’t last long), the MSM has been silent.
A review of news coverage finds nary a mention of her budget incompetence. Neither has the MSM covered her “I can feel global warming when I fly” comment (which has earned her ridicule in policy circles). Or her buckling to President Obama and the Green Left to vote against the Keystone Pipeline and 20,000 jobs. Or the diversion of 40 percent of America’s corn crop to a useless ethanol mandate (at her leadership), a mandate that by some estimates is driving up food prices by 20 percent during this summer’s drought, hurting America’s poor most of all.
Nary a peep. Stabenow has not done her job. Neither has the media.
