What inspires someone to fly into the eye of the storm?
All aboard DTW service to the Sunny State. Florida just declared Tampa Bay a tropical storm zone. Yet, despite the warning signals, I find myself in seat 32B awaiting takeoff.
What drives me or anyone on this full flight to head directly into the eye of the storm? To fly towards torrential rain, power outages, and a potentially serious safety risk?
With a flashlight, emergency phone number list, and enough Luna Bars to feed the entire Michigan Delegation, I prepare for the real eye of the storm: the direction in which America is heading. It is critical to confront Isaac in order to slow the ever-growing strength and fervor of complacency, dysfunction and misinformation that plagues our nation.
The poncho is donned. Travel umbrella safely stowed in the overhead compartment.
