Laura Cox arrives at RNC; Michigan delegation enjoys Tampa

Yesterday was a busy travel day. I attended the Speaker Bolger and Majority Leader Richardville event. There was a beautiful outside deck with a band and gelato!!

Later I went to bowling party hosted by the Senate Republicans. That was a fun time with a Motown-themed band and bowling shirts for everyone. There was a cigar bar outside that Mike and some friends enjoyed. Josh and Tad Romney stopped by to meet the delegation, which was pretty cool! Someone pulled all the Romney family in attendance up to the stage to dance with the band and Leader Richardville.

Today Governor Snyder hosted lunch and underwater dancing mermaids Ariel and Arista (I named them! Big fan of Little Mermaid) entertained the MI delegation at the Tampa Aquarium! There was a strolling lunch throughout the facility.

All guests were greeted by Gov Snyder and posed for a photo. The aquarium was really great with some interesting regional exhibits! Lots of sharks in an enormous tank! Sting rays and jelly fish were in several tanks as well.

Security is tight but our delegation is moving in and out of the perimeter very smoothly. The enormous amount of planning for this event is evident at every turn. There are federal, state and local law enforcement everywhere. They are polite and informative as we make our way around Tampa and into and out of the perimeter on foot and by bus. I feel very safe with so many uniformed officers around!!

The MSRP have done a wonderful job coordinating the delegation to the various events. It has been seamless so far!

I rode the elevator with Frank Luntz this morning and he is speaking to the delegation this week. That was cool and I have seen Gov Snyder 3 times in 24 hours! He definitely is making the rounds with the MI delegation. He told me he is watching all I do in Wayne County which is a very nice compliment but a safe state of affairs for Wayne county residents.

More later….
