It’s hard to believe that the Convention is almost halfway through. In addition to great speakers and parties, logistical chaos ensues -– traffic congestion, masses of people, loud music, sniffing dogs and bright lights. All of us in attendance are well-intended citizens trying to do our part, be heard, and fight for the future of our country and ideals we hold to be true.
Amid the chaos, I’ve found comfort in the Michigan delegation. The quality of Michigan attendees is impressive, including delegates, alternate delegates and guests alike. Michigan’s delegation is filled with heroes, folks who have built businesses, fought wars, raised families, and are willing to devote a significant part of their lives toward rebuilding our country.
I am particularly impressed by the leadership of State Republican Party Chair Bobby Schostak and Oakland County Republican Party Chair Jim Thienel. These two men have activated the base, practice what they preach, and lead with integrity and commitment to Michigan’s future.
I’d like to publicly thank Bobby and Jim for serving Oakland County and Michigan. It’s an honor to participate with you at the Republican National Convention and call both my friends.
