Campaign 2012

Any way you slice it, Obama won

There is entirely too much talk about how President Barack Obama won a second term for the presidency of the United States of America. There were so many things going against him, like millions and millions of dollars and an opponent that would tell any lie that got him to the next round. And don’t forget all the talking heads that were telling people that Obama was everything that he said he was not and was not anything that he said he was.

Well, for the time being forget all that this-is-how-he-won stuff. Number one, he won the most electoral votes: 332 to 206. That is 82 more electoral votes than needed. Number two, he won the popular votes – 62,260,113 to 58,889,165. That is far more than needed, about 3,480,947 more  popular votes than needed. He won more states – 26 to 24 – and that included all but one of the so-called battle states, including Florida.

Obama just won, that’s all, he won.
