Republicans should change the brand identity and the message

Now that the election has passed, the good people of the Republican Party should examine themselves and keep the country a two-party system. It is the best thing for the country to have a balance of power. The party in the White House must be kept in check by the party out of the White House. That is good government and good sense.

It is important because of political appointments, especially on the Supreme Court, where there will be two or three appointments made in the next four to six years. Reason must prevail in these appointments to have a court that is reflective of all the people in the country.  The country can’t have a court that will allow decisions that punish groups of people.  The courts were used too many times to punish the natives of this land and the humans brought here as slaves.

The Republicans must take the faces of talk show hosts that are all about ratings off the front of the GOP brand. Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly and others who represent the views of past conservatives leaders like Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms must be banished. The Republican Party should use black businessmen and talk about something other than “take the country back,” “welfare and food stamps” and abortion. There are real issues out here and blacks and other minority groups are concerned about them, such as global competition for everything from air and water to jobs and education.

We must come together and thank God for what is and think on how to make things better for all.
