Jack White’s debut solo album “Blunderbuss” is set to go where no previous Jack White album has gone: To No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart.
White never reached the chart summit as a White Stripe, a Raconteur or as a Dead Weather(er). But “Blunderbuss,” released Tuesday, is pacing to sell 100,000-120,000 copies this week, according to Billboard, which would give him the chart’s No. 1.
Of all White’s attempts at chart glory, the White Stripes came the closest with “Icky Thump.” It landed at No. 2 on Billboard’s albums chart, kept from the top spot by Bon Jovi’s “Lost Highway.” Bon Jovi, always mucking everything up.
Final chart figures will be released Wednesday.
