Las Vegas rockers The Killers are back with their new album “Battle Born,” which is due out Sept. 18. The group was beginning to feel burnt out by 2008′s “Day & Age,” but the time off seems to have worked to their advantage: “Battle Born’s” first single “Runaways” is a grandiose rocker that picks up where “When You Were Young” left off. It’s got stars, it’s got earnestness, and it’s got a slight “Lost Highway” vibe with those shots of the road speeding by. Suddenly, we’re ready for the Killers to return. Hopefully there’s a late 2012 or early 2013 tour in the works.
