Insane Clown Posse unleash their inner 'Chris Benoit'

Insane Clown Posse has unveiled its clip for “Chris Benoit,” the first single off the duo’s new album, “The Mighty Death Pop.” Let’s watch it, shall we? (Warning, explicit lyrics.)

Dark stuff. Here’s what we’ve got: Fire, dirt, a wrestling ring from hell, some sort of religious parade, a boy Juggalo who would be king, a Rubik’s cube with mystical powers, and a few ghostly cut-in images (look closely around the 2:40 mark) of Chris Benoit, the former wrestler who in 2007 murdered his wife and child before committing suicide. So yeah, dark stuff.

The video was shot in June in an abandoned steel mill in Trenton and was directed by the Deka Brothers, who were part of the effects team on Skrillex’s “First of the Year” video.

“The Mighty Death Pop” is due out Aug. 14 in three editions, each with a separate disc of bonus cuts. The “Chris Benoit” remix, available on the “White Pop” version of the album, features Ice Cube and Scarface.
