Quick story: I went to see Louis C.K. the other night at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. The show was great. Comedy is a difficult thing to dissect, and I don’t quite possess the tools to talk about it intelligently, but Louis C.K. was cutting, sharp, intelligent, honest and brutally funny. Like I said, it was great.
After the show I went to the bar with a few friends, and as we were leaving, we saw Tony Hawk at the bar. HUH? At the time I wasn’t being a reporter or an annoying person (which can often be the same thing) so I didn’t stop to ask him what he was doing in a Cass Corridor bar on a Friday night, but I did wonder what he was doing there, because it’s not every night you see Tony Hawk at a bar in Detroit, or anywhere in Detroit for that matter.
Well, now there’s a bit of an explanation: Hawk interviewed Louis C.K. at the Masonic Temple show for his new YouTube channel. The video (via Uproxx) is below. In it, they talk about Louis C.K.’s show “Louie,” his relationship with Dane Cook, and how soon is “too soon” to make a joke. In the video, Louis C.K.’s shirt is riding up in back, which is pretty hilarious and very Louis C.K. Also, wow at the couch they’re sitting on.
