Vans Warped Tour headed back to Metro Detroit in July

The Vans Warped Tour has announced dates for its 2013 trek, and the multi-stage traveling punk rock festival will hit Detroit July 19, according to dates posted by the tour today.

Venues specifics and acts will be announced in the coming months.

This year’s tour took place at the Palace of Auburn Hills on a blazing hot July 6, which saw temperatures rise past the 100-degree mark. (Check out our photo gallery from the show here.)

It was the first time the Warped Tour had called the Palace its home. The Warped Tour was held at Comerica Park from 2006-2011, and previously set up shop at the Pontiac Silverdome (2003-2005), Pontiac’s Phoenix Plaza Amphitheatre (1995, 1998-2001) and the then-Pine Knob (1996-97).

Next year will mark the tour’s 19th go-round.
